The Lewis Land Group of Companies made a statement to the retail world in 1999 with the introduction of their Harbour Town Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast. Harbour Town was Australia’s first purpose-built outlet shopping precinct in a major shopping centre. And judging by it’s success in the marketplace, it certainly won’t be the last.
The retail concept has met with much critical acclaim, winning awards from Property Council of Australia, Royal Australian Institute of Architects and International Council of Shopping Centres. But, more importantly, this new shopping experience has been embraced by the shopping public, including a healthy 65% of visitations from the tourism market.
The success of the first Harbour Town Shopping Centre has now seen the brand developed in strategic capital city locations throughout Australia jointly by The Lewis Land Group of Companies and ING Real Estate Development Australia Pty Ltd.
In addition to their shopping centres, Lewis Land are now entering the retail liquor market, with the purchase of key taverns and bottleshops. This adds a further string to their rapidly expanding property portfolio. |
